Quick guide

Hi resolution pdf = 300dpi

Images = 300 dpi, jpg (usually lower quality) to png files to tiff formats (high quality). If using jpg please save as high quality 300dpi or greater.

Colour management

= CMYK please for print

= RGB for web

Remember that colours vary depending on the medium used. Colours printed in CMYK vary from Pantone, vary from RGB (which are the colours used in a computer screen and TV). The are close but not exact. If exact match of your colour is needed call into the print shop to arrange a test file, there are more than one way to achieve the results you are looking for.

The following software is ideal; QuarkXpress, PageMaker, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and FreeHand. Microsoft products such as Word and Publisher are not ideal and if these are used we prefer to have a pdf file produced if you can. We have Microsoft packages here along with the free packages such as open office.

Pack and Go: Ask about your software, how it packages up your job to send to a printer, ie Pack and go, embedded files. This means the fonts and images used in your job are included.

Ugh! this is all too much!

If you are in any doubt just contact us and let us know what you want to achieve and we will do the rest - be it Apple, PC or Unix platforms we have the tools to convert pretty much everything.

Good news... bad news

Proofs are provided... but proof reading is not included (we would never get any work done!). Having said this if we pick up an obvious error or typo we will address it or query it.
